Callus and Corns
Calluses and corns are areas of thickened skin that develop in response to repeated pressure or friction most commonly on the soles of the feet, toes, or over bony prominences. While calluses tend to be broader and more diffuse, corns are usually smaller, more focal, and often more painful.
Though these skin changes may seem minor, they can cause significant discomfort and may worsen over time, especially in those with foot deformities, poor-fitting shoes, or high-pressure walking patterns.
Treatment for Callus and Corns
At Collective Footcare and Orthotics, our Chiropodists can safely and painlessly remove corns and calluses in-office, often providing immediate relief. But long-term management goes beyond debridement, we focus on addressing the underlying cause.
Thatās why we assess biomechanics and walking patterns, and offer offloading solutions such as custom orthotics, padding, and footwear guidance. These devices redistribute pressure more evenly across the foot, helping to prevent recurrence and reduce skin breakdown.
If youāre dealing with painful calluses or recurring corns, our team can help restore your comfort and keep you walking pain-free.
