When to see us
Book an assessment if your child has any of the following:
Heel pain—especially after running or sports
Flat feet, in-toeing/out-toeing, or toe-walking that persists
Frequent tripping, clumsiness, or foot/leg fatigue
Ingrown toenails (pain, swelling, or infection)
Plantar warts, calluses, or persistent skin/nail issues
Shoe wear that looks uneven or very quick shoe breakdown
Early assessment helps us guide growth, prevent problems, and keep kids active.
What we treat (and how we help)
Heel pain
A common growth-plate irritation in active kids. We use activity modification, calf/foot exercises, footwear tweaks, and (when needed) supportive insoles or custom pediatric orthotics to off-load the heel and calm pain.
Flat feet, in-toeing & out-toeing
Most variations are normal, but if pain, tripping, or fatigue is present, we assess alignment, strength, and flexibility. Care may include targeted exercises, shoe recommendations, and custom orthotics when appropriate.
Toe-walking
We screen for tight calves and balance/strength issues and create a simple home program. If needed, we add supports to encourage a normal heel-to-toe gait.
Ingrown toenails
For tender, recurring nails, we offer gentle conservative care and, when appropriate, a quick in-clinic procedure to permanently remove the painful nail edge and prevent it from growing back. Visit our page on Ingrown Toenails to learn more.
Plantar warts
Stubborn warts can be treated with evidence-based options, including topical acid applications, and Swift Microwave therapy offered in-clinic, which targets the root cause of the wart within the skin. Visit our page on Plantar Warts to learn more.
Custom orthotics—made in-house
When orthotics are indicated, we 3D-design and print them right here in our Hamilton clinic. That means precise fits for small feet, quick turnaround, and easy adjustments as your child grows. Visit our page on Custom Orthotics to learn more about our process.

FAQs
Will my child “grow out of it”?
Many gait patterns are normal in early childhood. We’ll let you know when watchful waiting is appropriate—and when a simple intervention can prevent pain or limit compensations later.
Do all kids with flat feet need orthotics?
No. We recommend orthotics only if it is age appropriate, if there’s pain, fatigue, poor shoe tolerance, or activity limitations—and we adjust the plan as your child grows.
Are procedures painful?
For ingrown nails, we can use local anesthesia to keep kids comfortable. Most visits focus on conservative care first, and will walk you through the process if surgery is indicated.
